The Day kicked off with morning practice sessions trying to find a rhythm on slow and windy greens which were proving tough to master. Opening Ceremony completed and our first test was against WA. The fours match started tight with only singles being dropped.
But WA were first to the jack more often and in rough conditions the game got away from them but good lessons learnt and the team will be ready for the next outing. Jordy leading our Singles charge played an excellent game going shot for shot against his WA counterpart. At 18-20 down Jordy was holding 2 but the WA player held his nerve to clip a bowl a stay for shot to take the W. Success for Jordy is definitely just around the corner. With a Bye for round 2 a nice early mark for all with a couple big days ahead.
